     1. Check out the Honest Ed's flyer for the week, and tell a partner what interests you.

Here are your tasks:1. Role play: Dealing with a Mass Transit Strike

   2. Discuss them with a partner, and then practise the dialogue.
A lot of people was walking on the street. They looked like very sad. Nobody smiled in the photos.

The TTC workers union has appealed to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in a bid to win back its right to strike.
The provincial Liberal government made the TTC an essential service in 2011, acting on a request of the city in the wake of an April 2008 transit strike that stranded riders late on a Friday evening.

1. Vocabulary: Getting Around without a Car
      1. Learn the meaning and pronunciation of the words in bold.

2. Using yesterday's nutritional triptych as a guide, write a dialogue between a patient and a dental hygienist:
 (1) Work in pairs, with a partner.
Cheng: Welcome! I'm glad you've finally found our dental hygiene centre. What can I do for you?
Hamed: I need you to help me. I have a terrible toothache.

Cheng: Yeah, we hear that a lot. Have you been in dentist in years?
Hamed: No, I have't seen a dentist for 2 years. So what's your advice? 

Cheng: Oh! my God. 2 years! You should get completely check. After that dental hygienist will talk to you.
Hamed: Ok, I will. I knew I'd get the right help from a registered dental hygienist!

Cheng: I'm an experienced dental hygienist with 20 years experience. I'm glad to help you.
Hamed: Thanks.


 (2) Have the patient tell the hygienist about battling plaque.
 (3) Then have the patient wonder if that was a full-fledged hygienist.
 (4) Create a happy ending if you're on the east side of the room, or an unhappy ending if you're on the west side.
 (5) Publish and perform your dialogue to the class and then as a recording.
